June is one of my busiest months for performing arts photography. Many of the dance studios in our local area have their annual recitals at this time. For the past two years, I've had the pleasure of shooting Coastal Dance and Music Academy's recital at the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo. This year's production, "Can't Stop the Feeling," was a spectacular show featuring dance, musical theater numbers, and even a few dramatic monologues.
"Can't Stop the Feeling" truly had something for everyone:
hip hop, ballet, lyrical, tap, Broadway, jazz, contemporary, and musical theater. Congratulations Coastal Dance and Music Academy on an amazing recital!
Shooting live performances is a huge amount of fun. There are so many on-stage moments to capture from the amazing technique of the experienced performers to the expressions of excitement and joy on the faces of the younger dancers. And check out all the great costumes!
